Grow your own sauce
George Costanza of Seinfeld series certainly has that belongs to each table. "Salsa", says flatly, "is now number one in United States." Mark Viette is agreed. He not Manhattan indeed live in the Blue Ridge of Virginia Mountains, outside Fishersville. With his parents, André and Claire, directs a well-known through nursery that bears the name of his father. Mark is an artist in the kitchen as it is in the garden. It is where comes in sauce.
At home, tend a garden of backyard designed for a purpose - to provide the tomatoes relic and hot peppers to taste of the legendary salsa. I would ask Claire how a man that he has dedicated his life to the planting, care staff, and they hybridize flowers is full compliance with slicing and dicing tomatoes.
"Mark loves to cook." From the moment when he was little, he was always in the kitchen. "of course", adds with a laugh, "when it was very young, some of the things that he fixed are not always edible." Obviously Mark has come a long way. Around Fishersville, its sauce is more than a dish, is an event.
Variety - Spice sauce
Mark grows more than 40 selections of tomatoes and peppers, some rare and some common. To find them, canvasses local nurseries and travels through the catalogues of correspondence. Such a range provides the rainbow of colors, flavors and degrees of heat, which depends on a good sauce.
"Plant 20 picks something, instead of 3," calls. "Through the use of one or two floors each, can extend the harvest and reduce pest problems." "In addition, a large plant can provide all the fruit of a particular type you need."
